CA Technologies Named As One Of The Best Places To Work In The United States

Forbes magazine has selected CA Technologies as one of ‘America’s Best Employers’ this year. Being named to the list demonstrates that an employer is committed to creating a working environment where all employees are able to thrive in order to generate the best outcomes for clients and customers.

“Employees are in the best position to say which companies and organizations are offering the most attractive value proposition, so we are delighted that they have selected CA to be on this year’s list,” said CA Technologies’ human resources vice president, Beth Conway, after the firm was selected to the Forbes’ list.

Employee survey

The list was compiled by Forbes magazine in partnership Statista, a research firm. To determine the ranking, more than 30,000 workers in the United States were surveyed with a view to getting their opinion on the organizations they worked for. On a zero-to-ten scale, the workers were asked to say the likelihood of recommending their employer to family or friends. This was the most important question in the survey and it weighed heavily in determining the ranking of an organization on the list.

The workers were also asked to recommend other organizations besides the one they worked for. While this also contributed to the rank it had a lower weighting. The list of 2017’s ‘America’s Best Employers’ was split into two – the larger employers who had a workforce of more than 5,000 employees and the mid-sized employers who had a workforce of between 1,000 and 5,000 employees.

Google toppled

Sitting at the top of the rankings was Costco which continued its excellent performance as it has consistently featured in the top three position in the last three years. With an employee count of approximately 143,000, one of the notable perks that seemed to be appreciated about the wholesale retailer was that even part-time employees were offered health insurance.

The best performance by a Silicon Valley company was Google which came in second place having slipped from the pole position it had earned in 2016. Another technology company was Facebook which came in at the 13th position. Microsoft was ranked at position 50 and its recent acquisition, LinkedIn was in the 60th position. The Cupertino, California-based iPhone maker, Apple, came in at the 90th position. Most dominant in the top 100 positions were academic institutions as well as health facilities and organizations.
